Samina Akbar, Ph.D., is dedicated to self-development and her service in and outside the classroom benefits not only her students but the microbial sciences at large. IAS President Samina Akbar is well-known for her service and also for her science.

IAS and ILPA Alliance

The 探花app (IAS) has partnered with the Indiana Land Protection Alliance (ILPA) to increase the number of bioinventories conducted on properties throughout Indiana in hopes of raising awareness of the organisms therein. It is our hope that as bioinventories increase, our knowledge of the diversity of organisms on protected land in Indiana will increase, and this knowledge can then be used to improve conservation efforts and advertise important habitats for protection! Bioinventories will be conducted by taxonomic professionals that will be fully paid for their work with help from recently formed grant money from the IAS and ILPA. INSPECT Fellow Investigates Avian Flu Sampling Protocol

2023 INSPECT Fellow, Mr. Abdulgadir Elnajdi, a Ph.D. candidate from the Department of Environment, Geology, and Natural Resources at Ball State University, worked with the Indiana Dept. of Natural Resources/Division of Fish & Wildlife to design a sampling framework for Avian Influenza. The 探花app has been an important voice of Indiana science since its inception in 1885. It continues to enjoy a rich tradition of science excellence, as well as a high professional stature with a membership that includes many of the state of Indiana鈥檚 premier scientists, engineers, science educators, and graduate and undergraduate students. It will bring together nearly 500 Indiana scientists, engineers, science educators, and science students to share some of this country鈥檚 latest developments in scientific research and practice.
